House bill could help students with dyslexia

House Bill 1108 which was authored by Representative Woody Button will be discussed Tuesday in the House.

It's about defining dyslexia in the classroom and teaching teachers how to teach all different kinds of learners.

The goal is to have individuals teaching our students that understand how to provide an education for these students that have a difficult time learning how to read, spell, and grasp language skills.

This bill would allow schools to offers in-service training and other teacher training programs that can teach teachers on dyslexia characteristics, as well as provide better steps on how to approach students that are showing signs of dyslexia in the classroom.
