ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Fire Department reports crews responded to a possible structure fire at 1419 Navajo Street on Tuesday around 1:50 p.m.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the attic area around the eaves at the peak of the roof.

Fire officials say it was reported that someone was still inside the home at the time.

After a primary search of the home, it was found that all three occupants had safely evacuated the house.

EFD crews brought the second story fire under control in about 20 minutes.

No casualties or injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation.
