Human remains found in Three Rivers

THREE RIVERS, Mich. -- The Three Rivers Police Department reported that officers located human remains Monday afternoon in a wooded area near the 300 block of Second Avenue.

Police say a person walking their dog reported coming across the remains of a body during a call with the department.

Officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 1:17 p.m. on Monday where the caller helped officers locate the human remains, police say.

Police say the body was transported to WMed for examination and identification.
