I-74 closed by 2 accidents involving 40 vehicles

DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. -- (ABC News/WKRC) Interstate 74 was shut down in both directions in Dearborn County, near the Ohio state line, after pile-ups involving multiple vehicles on Tuesday.

Indiana State Police say 40 vehicles were involved in two separate accidents.

Witnesses say roads went from wet to snow covered with white-out conditions very quickly around 10 a.m.

Multiple vehicles collided, including a number of tractor-trailers.
