Ice Box announces ribbon-cutting ceremony June 5 for $12M expansion

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Ice Box Skating Rink in South Bend announced on Wednesday that its $12 million expansion is complete and they will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 5.

The event is open to the public and, organizers say, Mayor James Mueller, South Bend Chamber of Commerce officials, and other city leadership will be in attendance.

"A meet and greet with dignitaries will take place along with guided tours after the ribbon cutting ceremony until 5 p.m. followed by an open house with on-ice activities until 7 p.m.," an Ice Box spokesperson said.

The Ice Box Skating Rink is located at 1421 S Walnut St.
