PENN TWP, Mich.—Cass County Deputies were dispatched to a head-on collision on M-60 Wednesday evening.
Around 5:30 p.m., 67-year-old Miguel Guerrero of Stevensville lost control of his vehicle as a result of icy roads and drove over the center line.
Guerrero crashed head-on into the vehicle of 62-year-old Rebecca Jo Jellison of Cassopolis.
Both Guerrero and Jellison were trapped in their vehicles when authorities arrived.
The Penn Township Fire Department freed the two from their vehicles.
Guerrero was transported via ambulance to Lake Land Hospital in Niles while Jellison was transported to Elkhart General Hospital.
Officials say seat belts were worn and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
