The Illinois Lottery bounced eight checks for lottery winners.
The checks bounced May 1 and were worth almost $10,000.
Lottery officials say it was a human error that caused the bounced checks. They say a lottery employee forgot to approve the winning funds.
The lottery's bank didn't released the money when the checks arrived.
Despite the confusion, everyone received their winnings.
