Indiana Attorney General warns of offers for fake COVID-19 tests

INDIANAPOLIS—Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill is warning of fake COVID-19 test offers that have been circulating.

Hill warned that people are falsely claiming to be able to provide testing when in reality, they cannot.

As of Friday, there are no tests that can be self-administered at home to find out whether or not someone has coronavirus, Hill said.

In Indiana, the only tests available require a doctor’s order and specimen collection done by a medical professional.

There is no FDA-approved blood test at this time to test for the virus, Hill’s office said.
