Indiana cemetery goes high-tech

CRAWFORDSVILLE, ind. -- An Indiana cemetery is going high-tech by putting QR codes on headstones.

Here's how it works. Simply scan the code with your smartphone. Then your mobile device will take you to a website with photos of your loved one, their biography, obituary, and a guestbook. You can even leave audio messages.

"They could go up to the code and see the pictures, read his story, instead of just standing there, and trying to picture what he looked like and his stories of the past," said Matilde Fairbanks, who bought a QR code.

The barcodes are designed at Crawfordsville Monument Company.

Packages cost anywhere from $99 to $400.
