MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and Attorney General Todd Rokita announced back on June 26 that they are seeking a date to resume prisoner executions starting with convicted murderer, Joseph Corcoran.
State executions have been on hold for 15 years due to Indiana not being able to acquire the fatal drug needed for lethal injection. The Indiana Department of Correction has now acquired the drug, pentobarbital, and is ready to resume lawful executions.
Corcoran was found guilty of the 1997 quadruple murder of four people in Fort Wayne.
All appeals for his case were exhausted back in 2016.
