LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- New details come out on the State Road 2 improvement project in La Porte County.
Indiana Department of Transportation today sharing the changes they've recorded after the 2020 improvements were completed, including limiting access to State Road 2 from County Road 700 East and adding new signals and dedicated turn lanes at US 20 and Cougar Road, all in an effort to make that stretch of road safer for drivers.
According to new data from INDOT, since the improvements were made, State Road 2 and Cougar Road have seen 85 percent fewer crashes. US 20 and Cougar Road accidents are down 51 percent.
