Indiana possibly limiting smoking in statewide ban

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Statewide smoking limits could come to the Hoosier state.

The bill would prohibit smoking in nearly all public places and businesses. Smoking will still be allowed in Indiana’s 13 casinos, private clubs, retail tobacco stores, cigar and hookah bars.

A state senate committee is expected to take action on it next week. Gov. Daniels has been backing the effort to put legal limits on smoking.

The Indiana House has approved statewide smoking limits six times in recent years.
