Indiana State Fair memorial unveiled near grandstand

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana State Fair paid tribute to those who died during last summer's stage collapse.

The fair unveiled a plaque on Thursday morning near the grandstand.

It reads, "In memory of those lost on August 13, 2011. May the Hoosier spirit continue to reside in all of us."

The names of the seven victims are also listed.

"I think it was a great way to honor everyone who passed away at the concert we were at," said Andrea Vellinga, who was injured in the stage collapse.

More than 40 people were hurt in the collapse, including a Mishawaka woman.

After the accident, the State of Indiana adopted new stage restrictions.
