Indiana State Fair unveils cheese sculpture

Sarah Kaufmann is known around the country as the cheese lady. The Wisconsin native once again created a masterpiece at the Indiana State Fair.

For 11 years in a row Sarah has worked for hours doing what most of us could not imagine.

She made a sculpture using only Indiana cheeses. It weighs more than 1400 pounds.

Each year, her masterpieces represent the fair’s theme.

This year it's Indiana's bicentennial and the important role the Hoosier dairy industry has played, and continues to play, in Indiana's growth.

The cheese lady started working on the sculpture on the first day of the fair and even pulled an all nighter.

She is one of only three cheese artists in the US.

You can see the sculpture in the Purdue Extension Agriculture and Horticulture building.
