Last Thursday, authorities reported an Indiana State Excise Police Officer was working on a special detail with a convenience store. The officer followed a suspicious 1990's-early 2000's Silver Honda Civic. The suspect then stopped, got out of his car at the intersection of Jacob and Rockne, and fired a the officer. The officer returned fire. No one was shot, but the suspect got away.
State Police say investigators followed leads and gathered evidence "nonstop since the incident".
