To be eligible and considered for a Capital Police Officer, you must be a United States citizen, and be at least 21 years of age when appointed as a police employee (Graduation date is August 18, 2023), meet the minimum vision standard of 20/50 acuity in both eyes and 2-/50 distant binocular acuity in each eye, possess a valid driver's license to operate an automobile and be a high school graduate evidenced by a diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).

The academy starts on Monday, May 1, 2023, and the Capital Police Section Probationary Officer starting salary is $46,863.00 per year.
