Indiana State Police is reminding travelers about road safety ahead of the holiday weekend.
“We're just asking people to do the right thing and be a responsible driver,” said Indiana State Police Sergeant Ted Bohner. “So if you're going to be drinking at your Fourth of July parties, you know, have a sober driver or use a rideshare. Any of those options that are quite literally are at our fingertips with our smartphones now.”
Bohner is also reminding drivers to put their phone or other distractions down so you can drive, not to respond to road rage and overall, follow the rules of the road.
If you suspect someone around you is driving drunk or dangerously, Bohner said not to follow them but instead, try to get a license plate number and alert area police.
