Indiana State Trooper to become new Sheriff of Kosciusko County

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind.—An Indiana State Trooper will become the new Sheriff of Kosciusko County.

Former Trooper Kyle Dukes, a native of Kendallville, Indiana, graduated from the Indiana State Police 60th Recruit Academy and was assigned to the Bremen District, where he patrolled Elkhart County and more recently, Kosciusko County.

Dukes served as a Field Training Officer, Tactical Intervention Platoon, and background investigator. He was named Bremen Post Trooper of the Year in 2009.

“It was truly an honor to be a member of the Indiana State Police for 18 years and to be a second-generation trooper. I look forward to a great working relationship with the Indiana State Police,” Dukes said in a press release.

Dukes attended Ivy Tech before going on to attend Tri State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.

Dukes will officially take office on January 1, 2019.
