Indiana teachers now eligible for COVID-19 vaccine

Indiana’s educators, up to grade 12, and other school support staff are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, the Indiana Department of Health announced Monday morning.

Eligible individuals include teachers and staff in pre-K through high school, childcare centers, Head Start and Early Start programs, along with licensed childcare providers, including center-based and family care providers. Classroom aides, bus drivers, janitors, counselors, administration staff, cafeteria workers and substitute teachers also are eligible.

Vaccines are also available through Kroger and Meijer stores. You must schedule those appointments through their websites.

Anyone who is over the age of 50, along with health care workers, long term care residents and first responders are eligible for the vaccine. Those with specific health conditions are also eligible. More info on eligibility
