INDOT to start new paving project on State Road 23

A bumpy ride is now a little bit smoother for those driving along State Road 23 in Saint Joseph County.

Their paving project is almost done so you can expect far less traffic delays on the road.

INDOT says there are a few areas that still need some more work but the work is minimal.

There will be lane closures on State Road 23 between Fellows Street and Miner Street on Tuesday, July 5th through the middle of August. Crews will repair and repave sections of the road for restoration.

During the project, State Road 23 will be open to all through traffic, but restricted to one lane in both directions.

Drivers should expect delays and allow extra time for trips through the area.

INDOT would like to remind drivers to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones as well as speed limits and workers.
