Instagram users clean up litter

The social media app Instagram has a new movement to help the environment.

A group that tackles litter wants people to take a picture of garbage on the ground and use the hash tag #litterati and then throw it away or recycle it. 

The founder says it will help people keep a record of the impact they have on earth.

Since it was started more than 10,000 pieces of litter have been cleaned up.
