A quick punch of snow and cold
ELKHART, Ind. -- First responders were called out to Jackson Place Saturday evening where they encountered a 12-year-old boy suffering a gunshot wound.
Spoking to the boy’s mom via text, she tells us his is recovering from a surgery on his left leg.
The other two victim’s injuries are also believed to be non-life threatening.
Police believe gunfire rang out at Jackson Place and Brady Street from a suspect vehicle striking 3 boys.
A 12-year-old found at the scene while a 16 and 17-year-old suffering wounds were located on the 100 block of North Main Street while Police investigated.
Neighbors were frightened to see this happen in their neighborhood.
"Three kids were shot on this street... really to be honest, I'm hearing about what happened and I do not like what is going on around here,” said Jerrell Jenkins.
Elkhart Police Department said investigators are looking into leads regarding a suspect vehicle and will share that information with the public when it becomes available.
"We just want to reiterate, we know the community is wanting and seeking answers, and we are working diligently on getting those answers,” said Jessica McBrier, the public information officer for Elkhart P.D.
