Iowa caucus results have Buttigieg with slight lead over Sanders

The Iowa Democratic Party released partial results from the caucuses held Monday evening after members spent the day tallying results.

With 71% of precincts reporting, Buttigieg had 26.8% of state delegate equivalents, Sanders had 25.2%, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren had 18.4% and former Vice President Joe Biden had 15.4%.

The partial results were released after Troy Price, Iowa's Democratic Party Chairman held a press conference to address the controversy.

He assured the public the results are accurate and have not been affected by the software issues.

"The one thing I want you to know, we know this data is accurate," Price said. "We also have a paper trail and documentation that we have been able to use to provide information to help verify the results."
