Irish Hockey: Confidence is key in tournament play

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Notre Dame hockey team is one step closer to the CCHA championship.

The Irish swept Ohio State this past weekend to advance to the second round in the tournament. Next up is No. 2 Michigan.

Notre Dame met the Wolverines twice during the regular season at the Compton Family Ice Arena. This time Michigan has home ice advantage.

“If our team goes into the game with some confidence, it certainly helps us,” said Head Coach Jeff Jackson. “You know, I think coming off the two wins this past weekend certainly is not going to hurt us. Right now if we are playing with confidence, that’s to me the most important thing.”

It's a best-of-three series. The winner advances to the CCHA Championship in Detroit
