Ironwood shut down at Auten for construction

ST JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The intersection of Ironwood and Auten is shut down as crews begin some of the heavy work necessary to make way for the new roundabout.

Crews are moving utility lines deeper because the roundabout will be a few feet lower than the current intersection.

To move the utility lines, crews had to completely shut down the intersection, which caused a major headache for drivers.

Neighbors say the headache caused by Monday’s construction is only a preview of the mess to come next spring when the real work on the roundabout begins.
