The IRS is making a major move and it could impact you and your family.
The agency says that is it now handing over some of it's debt collection to four private firms, which is a big switch from their old philosophy which said the IRS would never call a taxpayer to demand a payment.
Now that they are out-sourcing collection, that is exactly what is going to happen with the calls supposedly beginning this spring.
The IRS says it really had no choice. A new law was enacted by Congress in 2015 which requires the agency to hire debt collectors in an attempt to collect enough money to pay for road repairs across the country.
