LAGRANGE COUNTY — Indiana State Police are investigating the discovery of human remains in the area of 950 East and 350 South in Milford Township, near the town of Stroh.
The skeletal remains were discovered in a field by the property owner on April 8, not far from Reed Cemetery.
Neighbors reported seeing police activity near the cemetery.
On April 9, a forensic anthropology team from the University of Indianapolis assisted with the recovery of the remains.
Because of the level of decomposition, ISP says the body was not immediately identifiable.
A forensic anthropologist will examine the remains to help determine the age, sex and ancestry of the person.
The team will also complete a DNA profile in an effort to determine a manner of death and the person's identity.
The investigation is ongoing.
If you have any information in this case, please contact the ISP.
