ISP investigating death of inmate

BLACKFORD COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana State Police are investigating the death of an inmate who died at IU Health in Hartford City Tuesday night.

The initial investigation revealed at 10:40 p.m., jail officers found 24-year-old Victoria Seats in her cell having a seizure.

Jail officers summoned EMS and they performed CPR until medics arrived.

Once medics arrived and while en route to the hospital, medics performed life saving measures.

Attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful. Seats was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. at the hospital.

Blackford County Coroner Todd Waters requested an investigation.

No foul play is suspected.

Autopsy and toxicology are pending.
