ISU considering oil drilling on campus

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The high price of oil could drive Indiana State University officials to allow an oil company to drill beneath ISU’s Terre Haute campus.

The Illinois-based Pioneer Oil would explore, drill, produce and move any oil and gas resources it finds, and a discovery wouldn't be that farfetched.

ISU is within the Illinois Basin, an area covering Western Indiana, Southern Illinois, and Western Kentucky.

It contains both oil and gas fields.
