IUSB issues alert after possible gunman near campus, situation cleared

South Bend Police searched the area of Indiana University South Bend’s campus after dispatch said someone was seen with a gun early Friday morning.
IU South Bend sent out the alert to students at 12:55 a.m.
South Bend Police dispatch said a possible gunman was seen heading toward campus.
The emergency alert system for Indiana University alerted students to take shelter and lock their doors.
Police searched the area for the possible gunman and quickly resolved the issue at the nearby One Stop convenience store in the 1800 block of Lincoln Way East.
