IUSB lecturer headed to the White House

SOUTH BEND, Ind. —  An IU South Bend professor has received quite the opportunity from the White House administration.

On Tuesday, Alec Hosterman, a senior communications lecturer, will be at the White House to watch the State of the Union live.

He is one of the dozens of people who were chosen for the White House Social. A handful of hand selected people will Tweet, Facebook, and communicate on other social media platforms during the big event.

Hosterman said he was shocked and honored to be chosen as part of this historic day.

"This is to be in an audience, that watches the State of the Union and then interacts with administration officials afterwards to get our reactions but at the same time we can Tweet, we can Facebook, we can do all the social media and engage our followers at the same time," said Hosterman.

Hashtags have already been set up for this event, or you can follow Hosterman on his personal Twitter account at www.twitter.com/alechosterman.
