IUSB students seeking help for family in need

A South Bend family needs your help after a fire ripped through their home early Sunday morning.

IUSB student Devin Devereaux and his classmates are trying to get some help for a fellow student who lived at a house that caught fire on Leland Avenue.

The student, Nicole Scheidler, is in the accelerated nursing program at IUSB. According to Devereaux she lived inside that house with her husband and their 5 children.

They all made it out of the home safely, but the fire caused extensive damage.

Devereaux says it will be six months before Nicole and her family can get back into their home. They have to find somewhere else to live until then.
