Ivy Tech in Warsaw offering free FAFSA filing help February 26
WARSAW, Ind. - Ivy Tech Community College in Warsaw is offering free FAFSA filing help during College Goal Sunday this weekend.
From 2 to 4 p.m., financial aid professionals will be on hand to help college-bound students and their families file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Ivy Tech's Warsaw campus is located at 2545 Silveus Crossing.
Students attending the event could also win one of five $1,000 scholarships by attending. All they have to do is fill out an evaluation form that will then be entered in a drawing for the scholarship money.
FAFSA is required for students to be considered for scholarships, federal student loans and federal and state grants at most colleges, universities and vocational/technical schools across the country.
The form must be filed by April 15 to be eligible for most financial aid in Indiana.
Students should bring their parent or guardian and the following documents to the February 26 College Goal Sunday event:
- Completed 2021 IRS 1040 tax returns
- W-2 forms
- Any other 2021 income and benefits information
Students who work should also bring their income information.
Any student aged 24 or older can attend the event alone and bring their completed 2021 IRS 1040 tax return, W-2 form or other 2021 income and benefits information.
Students and parents are encouraged to apply for their U.S. Department of Education FSA IDs online before logging in to the event.
