SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Ivy Tech students went to Perley Fine Arts Academy to teach third and fourth graders about role models.
The Ivy Tech students showed the elementary students how ordinary people, like Anne Frank and Oprah Winfrey did extraordinary things.
They hope to inspire students to do the same at a young age.
“Students have a lot of potential if they realize that they were born to succeed and achieve greatness then they will do good things in this world but they have to taught that at a young age,” said Monica Murphy, Ivy Tech student.
The lessons are all part of community outreach within Ivy Tech's social work department.
