Jane Fonda will visit Benton Harbor to encourage voter turnout

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Jane Fonda will be visiting Benton Harbor on Saturday to help rally voter turnout, according to event organizers.

The actress, author, and activist will join the co-founder of Black Lives Matter, Patrisse Cullors .

The event will be to encourage voter turnout in the community, as well as bolster support for the One Fair Wage Proposal.

The One Fair Wage proposal’s mission is to help lift Michigan residents, who work on tips, get out of poverty.

The proposal would raise the minimum wage to $12 an hour by 2022 and raise tipped worker wages to $12 an hour by 2024.

The event will take place at the Benton Harbor Art & Cultural Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
