Warming up through Wednesday
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Many communities across the country and locally are holding their Juneteenth celebrations this weekend ahead of the actual holiday on Wednesday and Benton Harbor was one of them.
Today the city held its seventh annual Juneteenth celebration, it was complete with food trucks, music, dancing, local vendors, and a parade with all ages and walks of life in attendance, all to celebrate the holiday and what it means for the community.
They also honored the life of a Juneteenth celebration committee member who passed away recently, as well as Captain Jack Hall, the first Black Michigan State Trooper.
