Juvenile suffers serious injuries in lawnmower accident

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- A 14-year-old boy was injured when a lawnmower rolled over and impaled him, according to St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies, fire and EMS responded to the 23000 block fo River Run Road at 10:45 a.m. Monday following the accident.

Deputies say the teen was mowing on a steep embankment when the lawnmower overturned and impaled the victim on the roll bar of the mower.

The victim was taken by helicopter to Bronson Methodist Hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.
