Keep the beat, learn Hands-Only CPR

The American Heart Association has released a video to teach people how to do Hands-Only CPR.

It could help save the life of someone who is having a sudden cardiac event.

June 1-7 is National CPR/AED Awareness Week.

According to the American Heart Association:
  • Over 300,000 out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrests occur annually
  • An estimated 88-percent of cardiac arrests occur at home
  • Many victims appear healthy with no known heart disease or other risk factors
Effective bystander CPR provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim's chance of survival, but only 32 percent of cardiac arrest victims get CPR from a bystander.
