Killer of Grace Ross to serve rest of sentence in IDOC adult facility

Indiana Department of Corrections

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The man convicted of killing 6-year-old Grace Ross when he was 14 will serve the remainder of his 64-year-sentence in an adult facility.

19-year-old Anthony Hutchens was previously placed in an Indiana Department of Corrections juvenile facility after being sentenced to a total of 64 years for the murder and molestation of Ross. The transfer to the adult facility is a term of probation.

A representative from Hutchens's legal team says the probation keeps the possibility open for Hutchens to be released to a "lesser form of confinement" later in his sentence, which would be the decision of the court.
