'Kitten Shower' hosted by La Porte County Animal Control

LA PORTE, Ind. - The La Porte County Animal Shelter and The Jane Bernard Animal Adoption Center are hosting a "Kitten Shower" to raise funds for kittens in need, inform the public about fostering animals, and have residents interact with the kittens.

Organizers are expecting a lot of kittens this year and are asking people to donate kitten supplies.

The event is Tuesday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 2855 West State Road 2 in La Porte.

Included in the kitten wish list are the following items:

  • Kitten milk replacer (KMR) powder
  • Miracle nipples (mini)
  • Kitten nursing bottles
  • Snuggle safe heating disc
  • Digital kitchen scales
  • Unscented baby wipes
  • Canned kitten food (Fancy Feast)
  • Lil soups wet food
  • Meat flavored baby food
  • Soft receiving blankets
  • Heartbeat replacement toy
  • Monetary donations
