Knollbrook Farm open for pumpkin season
GOSHEN, Ind. -- Knollbrook Farm has over 7 acres of pumpkins and gourds in all different varieties.
They offer the classic orange pumpkins, but they also grow many other kinds of pumpkins with varying colors and textures.
Knollbrook's crops have done very well this year, so they have several pumpkins to pick from.
When picking out your pumpkin, make sure to look for one that is sturdy and has a long stem.
Longer stems will help your pumpkin stay healthy for longer.
To keep your pumpkins from rotting before you're done enjoying them it's best to keep them clean and wait to carve them until the week before Halloween.
However, to keep your pumpkin for the longest time possible, it's best to skip carving altogether.
Painting is a great option to add some personal flair to your pumpkin without causing it to rot prematurely.
Knollbrook Farms are open on weekends through the end of October.
Their hours are Fridays 4-8 p.m., Saturdays 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays 1-6 p.m.
You can visit their website for details on other offerings or to make a group reservation to visit the farm on a weekday.
