SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The first annual “Spirit of Sports” Knute Rockne Awards celebration was held Friday evening inside the Palais Royale ballroom.
The awards show started at 7 p.m. to honor the spirit of Coach Rockne and recognize other coaches who have served their communities.
The event had a special focus on the life and legacy of Ara Parseghian who died in August.
The Knute Rockne Foundation is an educational organization committed to honoring the legendary Irish coach.
