Kosciusko County getting its first limitless park

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- Kosciusko County is getting its first ever limitless park, a park for everyone of all ages and abilities. The people responsible for the project have been working on it for over two years.

Most playgrounds aren't designed with disabled children in mind.

Residents in Winona Lake want to change that.
Although it’s just an empty lot, but next spring it’s going to be the site of a splash pad that's accessible even for those in wheel chairs!

Project chair Erin Porter started taking about this idea 2 years ago and now it's coming to life.

Along with the splash pad there will be new handicap accessible restrooms, parking, an upgraded playground--including a rocking swing that a person on a wheel chair can use and interact with others.

All of these upgrades and additions are coming in with a price tag of $1.4 million.

While they have some funding secured, they have $600,000 in grants pending and are hoping to finish their fundraising so all the fun can begin.
