Not so lucky today with cold temps and a few snowflakes
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- La Casa de Amistad has been servicing the Latino community here in south bend since 1973.
It provides many assistance programs to Latino youth, families and immigrants, including reading programs, health services and immigration legal services.
You may remember La Casa de Amistad hosted its 2nd ‘Día del Mercado’ last month, and now it returns for a 3rd time with a Christmas theme on Saturday from 2-7 p.m. at La Casa de Amistad.
The ‘Market Day’ gives Latino businesses a platform to promote their services and products like jewelry, soaps, candles, and even an interactive photobooth.
There will be plenty for the kids in the family as well, like free pictures with Santa, children’s activities from the St. Joe County Public Library, face painting, cookie decorating and more.
It will also host the El Salvador consulate on Saturday and Sunday as well, providing passports to the El Salvador community so they can have ID’s.
These services all tie into La Casa de Amistad’s mission of empowering the Latino population here in the community.
