LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- A swim with caution advisory has been issued for the water in Pine Lake off Kiwanis-Teledyne Park, according to the La Porte County Health Department.
Officials who tested the water on Thursday determined that it showed above satisfactory levels of bacteria from that area of the lake.
All other areas of Pine and Stone lakes tested within satisfactory levels, according to the Health Department.
Under the advisory, officials warn against swallowing the water and recommend showering immediately after returning from the lake.
Those with open wounds or decreased immune systems should avoid the water entirely.
The health department can be reached for more information by calling 219-326-6808.
