LA PORTE COUNTY, Mich. -- The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office and local high school students are teaming up for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

On Saturday, April 27 any unwanted and outdated prescription medications will be accepted at the Sheriff’s Office Training Building in the La Porte County Fairgrounds.

The event will happen from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those participating are asked to put the unwanted medication into a plastic Ziploc style bag.

Liquid, needles, pill bottles and illegal narcotics will not be accepted.

Those who can’t make it to the event are still encouraged to dispose of medications in the secure collection box in the main lobby of La Porte County Sheriff’s Office.
