LA PORTE, Ind. -- La Porte Police captured an attempted armed robbery suspect within five minutes of the original call.

Police were called to a restaurant in the 600 block of J Street on Tuesday to investigate an attempted robbery.

The employees told police the suspect came into the business with a knife and attempted to rob them, but left without any money, reports said.

An officer arrived in the area and saw a person matching the suspect's description walking away from the business. The person was taken into custody.

Police also located the weapon in a nearby yard and entered it into evidence.

Employees of the restaurant identified the person as the suspect, police said.

The suspect's name is being withheld because they are a juvenile.
