La Porte police warn of suspicious man at Kroger

The La Porte Police Department sent out a warning about a suspicious man who approached a woman at the Kroger on Pine Lake Avenue last Friday.

The victim told police a man approached her, grabbed her shoulders and asked her questions about her family and whether she was "actually happy." The victim says she felt very nervous because she didn't know him. After several minutes, the woman says she was able to walk away from him.

She told officers she wasn't going to report the incident until she heard from a family member that he or she had the same thing happen while shopping at Walmart on the same day (January 23).

Officers describe the suspect as a male, possibly of Arabian descent, who was short with salt and pepper colored hair.

He told the victim that he was 56 years old.

La Porte police are asking anyone with information to call their office at 362-9446 or to submit a tip using their website, www.lpcitypd.com.
