LaGrange County man arrested for alleged child solicitation, attempted sexual misconduct with a child

GOSHEN, Ind. – A Topeka, Indiana, man was arrested on Sunday for alleged child solicitation and attempted sexual misconduct with a child following an investigation by the Goshen Police Department, officers reported.

At 8:33 p.m., officers arrested 51-year-old James York in the 400 block of West Plymouth Avenue following an investigation using social media and a peer-to-peer chat app.

Following his arrest, Goshen Police worked with the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office to obtain and conduct a search warrant of York’s home, where multiple cell phones and electronic devices were found.

York is a registered sex offender, reports said.
