Lake County Coroner releases identities of victims in South Shore Line crash

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. -- The identities of the five victims in Wednesday night's crash between a vehicle and a South Shore Line train have been released and it appears they all lived in the same neighborhood, if not the same home.

The Lake County Coroner's Office says all decedents were identified by viewing photograph with Deputy Coroner at Lake County Forensic Science Center or residence of Next of Kin.

The five people killed Wednesday night:

  • De'Mario Craig, 24 y/o, M/B, TOD, 2255 hours, Resided on 4000 Block of Harrison St. Gary, Indiana
  • Maurice Parrish, 20 y/o, M/B, TOD 2257 hours, Resided on 4000 Block of Harrison St. Gary, Indiana
  • Sherise Parrish, 20 y/o, F/B, TOD 2301 hours, Resided on 4000 Block of Harrison St. Gary, Indiana
  • Latianna King, 20 y/o, F/B, TOD 2258 hours, Resided on 4000 Block of Harrison St. Gary, Indiana
  • Bryon Towns, 21 y/o, M/B, TOD 2259 hours, Resided on 4000 Block of Harrison St. Gary, Indiana

Forensic Autopsies were completed on Thursday, June 26 and the preliminary cause of deaths were multiple blunt force injuries from a train against a motor vehicle accident.

Toxicology results are pending for all decedents.
